OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Central Hall Commons is seeking a motivated, energetic, and organized individual for the position of Operations Director. Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to: info@centralhallcommons.org

Will manage daily onsite operations, develop program policy/procedure, conduct program assessment and evaluation, participate in strategic planning, and supports the Executive Director in carrying out the mission of Central Hall Commons.  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming

  • Leads, under the direction of the Executive Director (ED), implementation of a comprehensive, balanced, mission-driven plan for CHC that enhances participation and community involvement
  • Oversees selection and design of annual schedule of classes, concerts, exhibits, rentals and other events.
  • Designs programs, in partnership with area organizations and volunteers
  • Issues related contracts and invoices
  • Works with VISTA to promote and market programs and events
  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, ZOOM & Google Documents

General

  • Develops and oversees annual budget for program area with ED
  • Acts as key staff facilitator for Program Committee and Maine Highlands Council for the Arts: providing committee reports to the board, communicates schedules to the committee and staff, coordination of committee assignments and goals, and recruitment and maintenance of committee membership, along with Committee Board Chairs
  • Shows commitment to mission, goals and organizational objectives and is able to articulate CHC mission to all 
  • Work closely with ED and grant writer to develop compelling proposals for current and new programming. 
  • Shares CHC representation with Executive Director or Board Members as appropriate
  • Contributes to building strategic partnerships with key supporters
  • Other duties as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years’ experience in program oversight and development
  • Management experience
  • Media relations and communications experience
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with limited staff support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives working in a team
  • Adapts easily to a flexible work schedule that accommodates occasional evening and weekend events
  • Self-directed, able to create a plan, prioritize initiatives and execute independently and in collaboration with others, to agreed deadlines.
  • High-energy, outgoing, can-do personality, ability to prioritize real-time demands of ongoing programs.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback well
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and professional
  • Adaptive to the changing needs of a dynamic, small staff
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects at once

SCHEDULE:
This position requires a flexible schedule at times, with some night and weekend work required as needed for staffing onsite and outreach events and meetings.
