Helping Hands with Heart is the oldest community coalition in Maine, dating back to 1997! Advocating for all children, families, older residents, and our rural communities to improve access to services and the quality of life for all.

We welcome everyone to our meetings and are eager to learn from one another, share our personal and collective resources, and work to advance the access and quality of various services to all residents in our region!

We meet on the 3rd Friday of each month from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Helping Hands with Heart provides:

  • Referrals for basic support and needs

  • Support for area providers, including early care and education services

  • Education in youth aspirations and Success

  • Advocacy for individuals affected by substance use disorder

  • Promoting healthy pregnancies and positive parenting

  • Advocacy for our region’s needs, including access to services and support for all

For so many of us who have lived here for years, we know the area well and love it heartily. We also know that for many, living here is a daily challenge. Helping Hands works to help those who need that extra support or help. Our assistance comes at no cost to area residents.

What We Do:

Our mission is to support the social, economic, and developmental needs of children and families, especially those in poverty.

We work to improve access to resources for all residents, coordinate existing services, identify gaps, and advocate for our rural region and all our residents and communities.
